What is Employee protect Premier

Employee Protect Premier provides comprehensive protection for your employees , offering peace of mind and financial security. This plan includes a life cover, accident death benefits, permanent disability benefits (total and partial), and critical illness coverage for  39 specified illnesses, depending on the package. It also offers funeral expense benefits and hospital cash benefits for both non-ICU and ICU stays, providing support during challenging times.

Life cover

The Life Cover payable in the event of death due to any cause offers a benefit starting from LKR 50,000 up to an unlimited amount for the employee. Spouse and parents are eligible for 50% of the employee's Life Cover benefit.

Accident death benefit (an optional cover)

In the event of a passing away due to an accident, an Accident Death Benefit is payable. The benefit amount ranges from LKR 50,000 to LKR 30,000,000 for the employee, with the spouse eligible for 50% of the employee's Accident Death Benefit.

Permanent total disability (an optional cover)

In case of permanent total disability resulting from an accident, a benefit amount ranging from LKR 50,000 to LKR 30,000,000 is payable to the employee. The spouse is eligible for 50% of the employee's permanent total disability benefit.

Permanent partial disability (An optional cover)

In the event of a permanent partial disability resulting from an accident, a benefit amount ranging from LKR 50,000 to LKR 30,000,000 is payable to the employee. The spouse is eligible for 50% of the employee's permanent partial disability benefit

Critical illnesses – 39 illnesses (An optional cover)

For diagnosis of one of the 39 specified critical illnesses, a benefit amount ranging from LKR 25,000 to LKR 3,000,000 is payable to the employee. The spouse and parents are each eligible for 50% of the employee's critical illness Benefit.

Funeral expenses benefit (an optional cover)

In the event of death due to any cause, a funeral expenses benefit of up to a maximum of LKR 500,000 is payable, calculated as 10% of the life cover.

Hospital cash benefit – non- ICU (an optional cover)

For hospitalisation outside of an ICU, a hospital cash benefit is payable. This benefit is calculated as 1% of the life cover, with a maximum payout of LKR 5,000 per day.

Hospital Cash Benefit – ICU (An optional cover)

For hospitalisation in an ICU, a hospital cash benefit is payable. This benefit is calculated as 1% of the life cover, with a maximum payout of LKR 10,000 per day.

If the life assured is not the policy owner the benefits provided by this policy will be applicable to the policy owner, whilst the covers are applicable to the life assured. This page is only a product overview. For full product details please refer the policy document.

You may cancel this insurance policy by returning it to us within twenty-one (21) days from the date you received it. We will pay your premiums back to you after deducting the expenses relating to your insurance policy.

If the life assured commit suicide (while in sound mind or otherwise) during the first year of the policy or the re-instatement;

We will pay the premiums you have paid after deducting the  expenses relating to your insurance policy;

Or

Where the policy is assigned to a third party if the third party proves that there isn’t any other way to recover the money paid for the assignment, we will make that payment to him (but not more than the amount payable upon your death)  

We will pay only the surrender value, if the death of the life assured was resulted due to the life assured taking part or while trying to take part in any war, invasion, act of foreign enemies, hostilities or war like operations, civil war, mutiny, riot, strike, civil commotion assuming the proportions of or amounting to a popular uprising, military uprising, insurrection, rebellion, military or usurped power or any act of any person acting for any organization which works with the aim to forcibly remove any government from power by terrorism or violence.

If the reason for the death claim was acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (aids) or human immunodeficiency virus (hiv) we will only pay  the balance of the fund at the date on which we receive the notice of your death.

During the first three policy years if you do not pay your premiums on the due date you will have an additional thirty (30) days to pay premiums.

A rate declared by the company for each year that will be used as the basis to credit dividend to the investment account. The annual dividend rate applicable for the previous year will be declared during the first six (6) months of the current year. A guaranteed dividend rate declared by the company that will be used as the basic for any benefit calculated based on the investment account balance until the annual dividend rate for the respective year is declared. The guaranteed dividend rate for the following year will be declared during the last three (3) months of the current year.

Any time after completion of the premium paying term, a onetime withdrawal of 15% of the policy funds may be withdrawn. 

With respect to the value-added services offered herein provided through external partners or third-party service providers, AIA shall not be responsible for the quality, or any other aspects of such value-added services. AIA reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue any and all of such value-added services at any time without recourse. Customers are advised to use their discretion in making use of these services.

Doc990 and Flash Health benefits are available exclusively for policies with an ANP over LKR 100,000 or those with a Health Passport rider.

Discounts from Vida Medical Clinic can be obtained if the ANP is over LKR 250,000
