AIA Sri Lanka’s most awarded Wealth Planner, Ajith Fernando has left a legendary mark in his list of achievements by becoming the first and only Wealth Planner to win the AIA Legend Award at the 2019 Sales Convention.
Having joined the company in 1995, Ajith has steadily built a business of providing quality advice and financial planning for close to 1500 customers over the years. He has contributed in excess of LKR 1 Billion in Gross Written Premium for the company and was the first country chair of Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Sri Lanka. During his stellar 24-year career, Ajith has won a plethora of awards and recognitions, including ‘The Best Sales Person Award’ for 10 consecutive years, was the first Sri Lankan to win an International Quality Award (IQA) from the Life Insurance Market Research Association (LIMRA) with IQA recognitions thereafter for 18 years running and was also the first Sri Lankan to achieve MDRT Life Membership. In 2015 he received the ‘piece de resistance’ of MDRT achievements with the Honour Roll, marking 15 years of MDRT membership. He was the first Sri Lankan to receive this pinnacle of prestigious international recognition. He was also the only Wealth Planner to qualify for the AIA President’s Club for seven years consecutively, since its introduction in 2012. These are just some of the long list of global and local achievements that has made him a shining star among professional insurance advisors at AIA and the Sri Lankan insurance industry.
